Rivera Paintings Known mostly for her flowers and still-life studies, she ‘ has recently painted a series of New England scenes at Martha’s Vineyard, where she has spent the last few summers.Mediterranean Scenes painting Miss Reindel was bom in Detroit and studied at Pratt Institute, N. Y. Upon graduation in 1923 she did book illustration and free-lance conmiercial art work for five years. Hopper Paintings Since her studies on a Tiffany Foundation Fellowship and her first one-man show in New York in 1934 she has painted a mural for the Stamford, Conn., Housing Project, and is now working on a Treasury Department mural for the post office of Swainsboro, Georgia. She teaches painting to private pupils. Famous Cities painting Her oil paintings are owned by the Whimey Museum, Mary Cassatt Paintings the Metropolitan Museum and Ball State Teacher’s College, among other public institutions. New England Harbor devticts Menemsha Bight, near the western end of Martha’s Vineyard. Menemsha is a port for many Vineyard fishermen, but it attracts more artists than tourists. Note the floating markers stacked up in front of the lobster-man’s shed. Lobstermen use these to locate and identify lobster pots.
